Crossfire Lands in UK

First demonstrators arrive in showrooms on November 15th

Right-hand drive Chrysler Crossfires arrived in the UK this week. Dealers should have them in their showrooms from November 15th.

It's a welcome addition to the Chrysler range which has been struggling without any new models for three years. Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler and Jeep in the UK, shrieked excitedly: "The Crossfire is our first all new product for three years, and heralds a new direction for the Chrysler brand. The Chrysler Crossfire combines expressive American design and personality with technology, performance and proportions ideally suited for the UK market .

"While the appearance of Crossfire will attract the hearts of sports car fans worldwide, it has been designed to be much more than just a pretty face. It offers a unique blend of performance and head-turning design plus air conditioning, leather seats, stereo system and six airbags as standard .

The Crossfire, powered by a 3.2-litre, V6 engine, can hit 62mph in just 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph. It is available as both a six-speed manual for £27,260 and five-speed automatic for £28,500.

Not sure about anyone else, but I quite like it. For £27K its a cheap alternative to the SLK (without the folding trick roof) and pretty good value for money...

Mind you, what a strange world we live in - designed by a Brit, made by an American company with a German engine and chassis..... what next?

I spotted on in St Albans on my way into work last week. Looked quite nice. Couldn't hear the engine at all though :-(
