Back on the road!

Life is good
. I finished all the suspension rebuild and other bits and pieces yesterday, just in time to enjoy the fantastic weather.
What's made me an especially happy little piggy is that everything just worked first time (well, except for the alarm/immobiliser having a little tantrum after being left unpowered for so long).
I'm actually incredibly surprised that it drives so well, as so far I've only done the "geo" with a plumb-bob and a straight-edge (read: I've guessed!). I've tried to go for 3 degrees camber at the front and 1.5 at the back, but within my tollerances that equates to "a lot" and "a bit". Still, it was only ever meant to be good enough to get the car down to Joo.
It's also fantastic to actually have a handbrake that properly works for the first time, and doesn't require the strength of hercules to apply (does still need a little tweek to bring the catch point further down the ratchet movement).
So that's: Poly bushes all round, including anti-roll bars; Steve heath ARB droplinks front and back; all suspension stripped back to bare metal and recoated - fronts DIY'd (galvanised and three coats of stonechip) backs shotblasted and powdercoated; new bolts everywhere; nitrons refreshed; new handbrake shoes, pins and springs; new rear pads (inc. pins and return springs); new, larger, front undersplitter.
Still to fit (when I can be ar$ed!): New front discs and pads; brake cooling ducts; HID kit. Looks like the heater refurb is going to be left for next winter!
Sorry about the crap pics (I mostly only took them to remind me how everything went back!) but here are some of the strip down. I'll go out later today and do some of the finished article.
Up on stands and here we go:

All a bit grimy and rusty:

Looking a bit bare:

Before stripping:

After my b0llocking for degreasing the shocks in the bath, but before my b0llocking for painting on the zinc on the doorstep:

First coat of stonechip on:

Once the fronts all went back together, then I turned the car round int he garage and made a start on the rears:

I'd love to take credit for these, but they were professionally done:

As I say, some after photos when I can get a mo to head down to the garage.

Hopefully mine will be done this weekend! I have pretty much done exactly the same as you.
TVRs - the Thrill of keeping Steve Heath in business!

He assured me the other day that I wasn't his most annoying customer.

I had to send a few odds and sods back too.
One set of the outer bush sleaves were wrong from Powerflex so we had to swap those, and the ARB bushes were wrong too.
There were also a couple of bits where I had to pop an extra washer or two in to compensate for slightly different thicknesses of the new bushes/bolts.

Right here we go - Some after pics. With hindsight, I probably should have taken the pics before going for a celebratory drive! Still, they're going to get mucky soon enough anyway!
