Picked up my first Tuscan this week, very much looking fwd to the weekend weather ! Smiling idiot around Hertfordshire in a tit-grig-Tus coming soon.
Nice to see some familiar names on this forum (Whitey mate - you're still here !!!) and no idea why i didn't do this earlier, but I think I found my 'keeper'.

See you got it from james at mads, topbloke. I bought mine from him about 14 months ago, same colour and year as yours! I think he must like silver ones (or perhaps there faster) as he's got 2 mk2 tuscans in silver at the moment as well.
Have seen another "s" the same colour with the rear lights done with clear lenses looks the nuts.

Thanks all. Must say, for the price, was just too good to say no to...despite the intention at the outset to look for a doner car to transplant a Mosler race engine in.
But....enjoying the Sp6 engine again. Put the new cans on this weekend (after a monumental fight to get the offside b'std off) and became a giggling 14yr old juvenile again with the pops and bangs. So plan to now just keep going with the engine - this feels a strong one so far and the short-box with 3rd gear is just sooooooo the only gear you need
Has the wrong size rear tyres, so they're the next thing to get changed.
Jim - you have already got my winter programme planned - the pictures of your cleaned chassis really opened my eyes to keeping it all spuffed nicely. Plus, want one of those T400R type front grills !

Well Chris.......... It's a dirty old job, but very rewarding once it's done and all you need to do is give it a quick wipe down every now and again.
Certainly is a great looking car you've got there, everything just looks right about it (Colour, Wheels, and it just seems to look right).
If I remember the original add...... Doesn't it have a particularly low mileage (Under 10k) or am I getting it mixed up with another one. If it's the one I'm thinking of, then that was a give away at that price.

That's the one Jim - 8,500 miles. Price reflected that it had been re-built after Insurance job, but frankly, it was probably re-built better than the 'original' factory effort. I've had most of the ex-TVR Race Shop guys and Martin Short at Rollcentre crawl all over it/drive it and everyone has raved about it. Just loving it, much to my wife's intense irritation currently.

If i'd have still been in the market for another tuscan, I'd have snapped that one up.
As for the fact it's an ex insurance job......... It wouldn't bother me abit if it had been done properly. And your probably right in the fact that it's probably better built than originally. I've spent the last six months taking mine apart and putting it back together properly. Looks like TVR had shares in "Tiewraps"..........and as for the electrical connections ! ! ! ! Halfords sell better, but I've replaced alot of mine with BMW items and hours spent with a soldering iron. Engine loom is totally changed for waterproof connections and properly routed so it doesn't chaffe against the chassis or other components. I think of it as a kit car, but it has all the right bits, just needs re-assembling properly.
