Can anyone please provide advice regarding retro fitting Xenon lights to an E46 pre facelift 3 series?

Is it possible? What would be needed?

With the lamp unit, power pack and bulbs can the old unit be switch directly for the Xenon parts?

I'd much appreciate any advice?

Why not talk to some of the Xenon suppliers for more information? People like CA Automotive, Autotint Design in Leeds, Cooks ferry in Enfield, Middx, or read the ads in the back of BMW Car magazine etc.

Thanks, had a chat to cooks. It is possible, but not cheap unless I can find the correct parts second hand and they are apparently quite rare.

What is the cost of a straight new replacement? Can the housing plus bulbs, ignitors, reflectors etc not be found new?

Good find, now I need to find a second one, plus it does seem that one is no longer for sale.

As an upgrade you I'm told it is not a straight swap. The Lighing computer system shows an error and the lights flash if you don't install some kind of resistor. For a pair of BMW OEM parts I've been quoted £900 but you could build up your own for less than £600. The people at Cooks were very helpful

Hi Mate,

I retro fitted a set of xenon with angel lights to my E46 Coupe, no problems. I bought a set called DEPO from ebay around £300. Everything included, a straight swap. It took me about 2 hours to change them but thats because I didn't have the right tools for the job.

Good luck

That word (Depo) is the word you need on the lights, because they are apparently the very best. Difficult to get over here, though lots of USA sites are selling them.
