Are they for the s1? The dealer was just as cheap. They have to get them direct from Lotus so they're pretty much a set price mate. They were only produced by Yokohama especially for lotus. I got mine for 425 all in, including fitting from the dealership in Newcastle.

Yeah, I know but I don't get on with my local dealer.

Sticking wheel weights on with Prit Stik is one of the reasons......

OK, just went to use the car and I've also got a puncture on one of the rears now!

I was on a carlimits day yesterday and one of the guys lost his plate. Think I've found the screw!!!!

My friendly local tyre place can't get the Advans but can get 888's tomorrow for a good price. What do people think? I'd thought about getting these anyway but was put off yesterday as Walshy said they'd be too sticky and i'd be on the bumpstops too often.

Opinions? Anybody use R888's on an S1 with S2 suspension? Be really good if you've also had Advans previously?#

I want the best for the car so am happy to wait for the Advans if required.

What type of S2 Suspension. Spoke one of the Lotus engineers at the motorshow about tyres for about 15 minutes. Recommended semi slicks only with firmer suspension setup i.e. not touring lol.

smile I did have look at the Evora girls afterwards lol

I am not an expert, but think that is basically the touring set up and therefore not recommended with semi slicks/ but it be worth asking a specialist. Mind you walshy also knows what he is talking about

888's without uprated toe links?

That's "brave".

I'd not recommend it, mate.

Running tyres like 888s on the road is a waste and they don't like standing water either. They'll also prove very expensive as they will wear out much quicker than road tyres.
I'd heed Walshy: on track you'll be at the limits of your Bilsteins before you reach the limits of the tyres. If you want to run 888s (or OA48s) then you need a damper and spring change and also to fit a uniball toe-link kit.

Just thought I'd add that Kuhmo KU31s are a popular choice (although I'm not that keen on them). I like Toyo T1-Rs as a budget tyre although not everyone likes them.

Try Peter Smiths in Derby they've always been reasonably priced for Advans.

bookatrack are also worth a shout - they'll fit them for you if you turn up at one of their days. They're the cheapest I could find.
