I currently have silver 2002 325ci M sport convertible (blue soft top) , which has standard 18inch MV alloys – im looking for change thinking of going for M6 alloys or set of AC Schnitzers

M6 alloys

AC Schnitzers

2 things

1 - Help me make my mind up on which alloys should go for (what looks better) and if should get 18s or 19s

2 - And if there’s much of a difference the the drive / fuel consumption / and general wear/tear on car when you upgrade to 19s

Thanks

Have to agree, neither really suit the E46 in my eyes although if I had to pick one, the top ones are marginally less "aftermarket" looking

Saf - sorry mate I dont particularly like either of the above two options. How about some CSLs - they are lovely imho.

Other than a firmer ride I dont think 18s/19s make much difference to fuel consumption, wear and tear etc. I would stick with 18s and maybe try a judicious (ie not too much !) bit of lowering.

If I really had to- you know some one standing over me with a red hot poker around my bottom area, then the AC'S
For some odd reason E46's do not look good with aftermarket rims

As said CSL's everytime.

thanks for replys guys - will check out set of CSL 19s (prob ebay)

cant believe i never considerd CSL's before

what ive heard is when your car is used to pulling 18s its whole life (from new) and all of sudden you put 19s on them, it can have an impact on the engine and performance? is there any truth in that?

aprt form the tyres costing more when you upgrade to 19s from 18s anything i should look out for
