I've just bought a 4.2 which has its fair few probs, one of which is the lights don't work, the full beams do on the wheel button but not side lights or dipped beam, neither do the rear lights, or brake lights. horn's ok, wipers are ok.
Is it down to the elec box in the boot?

Check fuses + fiddle with the wires behind the headlight knob. - second did the trick for me.

Also check the lighting control boxes which are in the boot sitting on top of the fuel tank. The wires often short out.

Also, have a look at the lights control box in the boot (sits above the fuel tank). Check for any obvious signs of burned terminals or damaged components.

Is the light switch illumination coming on...what about the interior lights...mine was doing this and it turned out to be a blown fuse...15A if I rememeber correctly but cant rememeber the fuse number...

Its a good idea to go through al the fuses anyway as this is a good, easy first port of call.

Good luck

You must have got the Croydon security upgrade - it won't let you out after dark until you get home.

Steve Heath has fuses which light up when they blow. A very handy quick check.

Job done the wiring was connected to the switch but nothing on the other end. Found a suitable place to plug it in, and bingo, Backlit in green and all works fine.

Cheers Chaps.
