I assumed it was

9 Holes ( pubs/bars/Whatever) And you have a pint per hole

At each pub players buy a pint and then must consume it in as few sips as possible in front of the judge. For instance if they down their pint in one there score for that hole is one. If it takes them 3 attempts to finish their beer, their score is 3 for that hole.

At the end of the last hole, the person with the lowest score wins. When approaching the final hole if two players are "tied" for the lead the last hole becomes a speed hole, with the first person to finish their pint deemed the winner.

Girls have to consume full pints in the first and last pubs, but may drink 1/2 pints in all the other pubs.

bring a golf ball, if you manage to "slip" it into someones pint without them noticing they must down it and get a fresh one.

They then have ownership of the ball and can attempt to dunk it in someone elses drink.

If you get caught trying to drop it into a drink you keep the ball but must down your own drink!

Did you deliberately mis-spell the title? wink.

Not wishing to hijack the thread, but I've been invited out for Pub Golf in a few weeks time, but I don't drink alcohol. Should I go for the caffeine overdose Red Bull instead of Pints or something else?

18 holes come on, we always play so each bar has a drink designated to it with a par.
Example pub 1 Guinness par 5 so you have to down in 5 or less.
pub 2 vodka and lime par 3 and down 3 or less.
and so on.

Yes that's how we play - each bar/pub has a different drink. Girls didn't get the 'half pint' concession in freshers week! We had to man up and do it like the boys..

I thought good form was to do a hole in one on every hole?

I think you should understand some of us are quite lightweight and can only just about do 6 pints let alone 9 wink

I do remember now of hearing the par 3/4/5
i think it will be par 9's after about 3 holes though hurlvomit

Yeah me too. I've only played once, and was 27 under par after 9 holes (all hole in ones and all pints), with the next person 5 under par! Seems my idea of drinking games is a bit extreme for most!

Why not have play a handicap system then?

Lightweights get a few shots in hand (15 maybe)

Seasoned blokes play off scratch wink

Version we play is 18 holes.

All holes are assigned a par for your scorecard before you set off. As most above the most under par (and still alive) at the end wins.

A round of golf will consist of 6 par 3 (short), 6 par 4(pint), and 6 par 5(pint and short). The drinks will be specified for each hole.

eg

1, Par 4, Bitter
2, Par 3, JD
3, Par 4, Lager
4, Par 5, Guiness, Vodka
5, Par 4, Cider

etc. etc.

Most people normaly make excuses and have to go home after about 10 holes. I managed 18 once and had 3 days off work

I was once on for 18 pints in one, but lost my balls in the bush around the 16th hole.

My liver has just gone into hiding just reading this as it is a timely reminder of the pub golf I played in Melbourne 2005 - must dig out my score card that I had.

When we played it, we found that individual laminated rules cards were extremely useful. A map of the route on the back went down a treat as we ended up a little fragmented at the end. We also finished with a putting green at the night club, where it was a double shot and a mixer only.

Unless it's on the back 9, a Guinness really should be a par 1...
