When will it be back up?

Are major changes being made, or will it be same old same old?

I'm afraid it's down to fix problems, rather than add features.

Hopefully it should be back up and running today in time for the weekend.

Why do you have to remove it completely, it worked adequately until now so whats happened?
Have you made changes and then realised they didnt work!

I assume you have a dev server to make changes before they go live, just seems a bit drastic to get rid of an important part of PH.

The ever increasing traffic went beyond the level that the search could cope with, causing problems for the live databases as well as the search database (hence all the problems a couple of nights ago)

Turning it off was the easiest way to get the site back up and running until we can speed the search up enough to cope.
