So I have been given a value of £3500 to spend for my lost Rolex from the insurance company,
and here are the two options.
One - Buy a new Rolex Submaminer for about £3700.
Two - Buy - Omerga Divemaster
plus Tag Monico for a total of about £3700
So do I get one watch or two. I always thought I wanted a Sub, but now I have seen the watches and tried them on, I feel inclined for the second option, so I don't know what to do.
Any opinions would be very welcomed

The OP's dilemna is a piece of string question asked here
I'm not going to add anything to your confusion except to say, if it is at all possible, go used. For £3700 you could just about get a perfectly respectable collection of every day nice watch, beater, diver and possibly evening watch.

Bugger Rolex!
Arses to Omega!
£3700 Is JLC Master Compressor territory. OK, add a hundred quid.
Do the right thing, OP.

Does the Compressor series of JLC's mean that they're diving watches? Seems odd thet they'd call them Compressors and only rate them to 100 meters, which usually means it can only be used for swimming.
Back on topic, I have to agree with CJ, the JLC's are stunning watches, but its a very hard question to ask others as its down to personal preference. Try them all on and you'll find one or two that you instantly fall in love with. You can always sell it on and try something else later on.

From what I can see in the catalogue, there are two branches of Compressors - the Master Compressors, and the Master Compressor Divings. The "Diving" Compressors have ratings of 300M and up - the Diving Chronograph, for example, is 1000M rated in its titanium incarnation.
I should imagine, unless the OP plans on going diving with a 3.75K watch on his wrist, that 100M will be adequate to protect the movement from the rigours of the bath, shower or swimming pool.
Personal preference of course, but IMHO I'de prefer a couple of watches than one at £3,700. Anonimo (original Panerais), Sinn, Damasko come to mind. All brilliant watches and slightly off the beaten track as far as the average person is concerned and you're not likely to be mugged either. The problem is, once you've had your set your heart on something for some time, would you be satisfied with anything else? Conversely, will the reality live up to the illusion? I had a phase of wanting a bimetal sub but worked my way through it and now find them a bit tacky frankly. Glad I didn't get one. But then, if we all liked the same thing it would be a poor world.
