Greased up the outer ones, no problem.

The inboard two closest to the diff. are impossible to get to due to the angle they sit at and a protruding bolt head! No matter what position I rotate them to, I just can't my grease gun on them banghead and I've tried jacking the wheels up whilst the car is on axle stands, just to gain a bit more clearance for the nozzle. All to no avail!

Is this a common problem or has the UJ been fitted the wrong way round?

I think a VERY slim tipped grease gun would do it just, but I can't find anywhere that sell them.

You need a flexi attatchment for your grease gun.
Tends to make it three hand jobsmile

ETA
Maybe flexi extension is a better description.

James , try taking the offending grease nipples out and replacing them with 30-45 degree angle ones ,easily obtainable , take the old ones with you as you need to get the correct thread !

Got the same problem with the N/S outer UJ on mine. I think you will find that the UJ has been fitted wrong. I couldn't find a gun that would fit, or a replacement nipple that would work. Came to the conclusion that I would correct it the next time I do some work on the back end. Cheers Steve

Thanks for all replies,

I did think of getting a flexi attachment, but the end is still the same size as my rigid shaft (this all sounds a bit dodgy doesn't it! rolleyes ).

I like this angled nipple idea, will investigate this further smile

Thanks

James.

A flexi hose works on mine, although I might have ground it down slightly.

I use an air-powered grease gun without any problems, I think my UJs have angled nipples. I think in the past I've had trouble getting at some angled ones, all I normally do is crack them off half a turn. You lose a bit of grease past the threads but not much.
