Just got a Sony a200 and for some reason its started taking pictures off centre, ie. if I view an object in the red box in the centre its to the left in the photo. As you can probably work out I havent got a clue what I'm doing. Have I altered something without knowing it?

Whoa! eh? What?

Have no idea what's going on there! Can you elaborate a bit more?

Are you talking about what's in focus and not in focus? ie the focus point is set off to one side or actually that the centre of the image taken doesn't line up with the centre of the viewfinder? If that's the case something bad has happened!

Yes the centre of the image doesnt line up with the centre of the viewfinder, ie. if I take a picture of an object and that object is exactly in the middle of the viewfinder in the image it is off to the left quite a bit

Does the lens move a bit when you're composing a shot?

I had a slight issue with my old Sony DSC-F828 (bridge camera) doing the same thing - it was sent back to Sony who repaired it with the note on the return paperwork that "repaired loose component".

I always assumed something along the lines of the sensor not being in proper alignment etc caused that issue...

Can you set the autofocus point to one other than the centre?
