GTR exhaust on Ebay

Hi newby here,

Looking to start getting parts together for an ultima build and came across this on ebay

No way would they 'bolt on' - the header sections aren't even bent (not to mention the lack of header flanges)?

They may fit a SBC, but you'd need a fair amount of work to get them on a GTR!

What are header flanges?
The advert says exhaust flanges to fit a 350 chevy engine, are they not the same thing?

Flanges are the flat plates that form a mount between the round tubes and the cylinder head face. They can either be individual ones for each header pipe/exhaust port or one long plate with four header/port cutouts for each cylinder head. The latter is better IMHO.
They appear to be included in the items listed.
Stig is merely pointing out that some work would be involved in getting the listed items to a usable standard on a GTR.
If you are or know a good fabricator it can be done.

Those pipes are the wrong shape and look to be right for a normal front engine car.
They should be best regarded as just a pile of pipe that would start you on the way to cutting and welding your own exhaust. More pipe bends, tail pipes and silencers will be required to make a system.

Even so, if you were going to fabricate your own then the price may be fair for what you get. Try Google for companies that supply tube bends etc. and see how prices compare.
