If you have a TD5 then invest in the JE engineering Stage 1 remap. I left Southampton this morning and drove up to Coventry as I read up on the forums, which left a list of three tried and trusted remaps and JE were the easiest for me to get to. So I sat in reception and read a few LRO mags and 45 mins later a beaming technician appeared with my keys and said "I think you'll like that". Well I did.

What a difference. Straight out of the blocks instead of lumbering to 30, and the mid range difference is sublime.

I can wholeheartedly recommend getting your TD5 chipped, and would not hesitate to also recommend JE engineering.

Best money i've ever spent on a car.

Off to the alps in 12 hours so economy figures to follow.

I am thinking of getting this done on RR TDV8. Has anybody told their insurance and if so what difference did it make?

Had my TDV8 done @ JE and the difference is amazing.
To put it in to perspective, from 30-90 leptons its almost identical in pace to my E30 M3. Not too shabby for nearly 3 tonne of Derv.

JE re-map the ECU. Superchips are not great for Land Rovers. JE are great.

JE simply plug in, read your current software/hardware config and upload the specific map. Took about an hour including test drive.

Car has a much deeper growl to it now, sounds even more petrol V8 than before, and it sounded good before.

Car has to be post 2001 to be remapped by a flash.

Pre 2001 will need a chip soldered in.

Had my RR TD6 done by JE Engineering last week. I drove down from Edinburgh getting an average of 23mpg and drove home getting 26mpg. That doesnt tell the full story though. The car is so so much better to drive now, accelerating from 50 now is significantly smoother and massively quicker. It gets up to 100 now like it used to get to 70 (Kph of course, ahem.) and is much quieter throughout the rev range too which is a nice bonus. Very very impressed with it!

My remap was about £240. They had a deal on saving 30%. This may still be valid.
