Eliseparts say they don't need to be run in; is this right or would it still be beneficial to take it easy for a bit?

Yellowstuff pads have a red firction layer on and they bite fantantic out of the box, the bite will get worse though! but yes the overall perform is much better once you have got a few hundred miles through them.

I have just had new Yellow Stuff pads (with new EBC dics) fitted @ Hexham Horseless and they advised just 100 miles of gentle braking to bed in.

100 miles bedding in is standard advice for any brake pad, i found my yellowstuff did bite well from new and did get gradually worse untill they settled and once theres a bit heat in the pad they work really well and i've give them some real stick.

Fully agree, take it easy for the first 100 ish miles, the trick is to get some heat in them otherwise your in for a few interesting moments.
