Question to Mods

A few weeks ago I was awarded a one week ban from P&P for a bigoted post. The problem was that the mod did not specify which particular post breached the rules. If it were not for the fact that on the day in question I was having a raving outburst day, I would have been able to identify the offender. I don't take issue with the ban; there were a few that day which could have warrented slapped legs. However, in order for me or anybody else for that matter, to know where the boundary is; surely it makes sense to inform the "sentenced" which particular post crossed the line.

If you think that there were a few posts that would have warranted it, just try to avoid any posts which you think might cross the line in the future...

Thank you Stuart, It was the answer I expected. However, my question remains unanswered. I know we should be self-policing, but when one person’s free speech is interpreted by another as bigotry I would hope the mods act as independent arbiters. They should identify the offending post, if not on the topic post, at least to the individual who has erred. I'm not suggesting the right of appeal as this would be to time consuming.

If it is a single post then the mods will generally just delete the post and issue a warning.

Forum bans are generally earned over several offences, whether all within a short space of time or as part of longer term misbehaviour, but either way it is not always as simple as one specific post being the reason.
