Tuscan_al, do you have a spare or able to get one? I have one available for you if you can't lay your hands on one.
Macey
many thanks for the offer. I had actually kept my old one, it got changed at Trimar around 18k ago, and the old one was ok, just a bit tight. Surprised it has worn so quickly. Anyway just swapped out the old one, and now I can go to goodwood in style again Macey

If your selling the spare as you have no need for it, I guess another one would be useful for me.
Cheers

Alex,
I keep a spare in the boot of mine as the only breakdown i've suffered was a broken cable, so will keep hold of it. I just did not want you to miss the sunshine today.

Many thanks again for offering to help, what other web site would you get that from, top man I keep a spare in the boot of mine as the only breakdown i've suffered was a broken cable, so will keep hold of it. I just did not want you to miss the sunshine today.

Currently at goodwood enjoying the sun

Can you afford to shorten the cable? It looks very similar to the ones used on the V8S/Griff/Chim, which also tend to fail right by the pedal. Perhaps the same fixes that apply to them will help you.
By carefully cutting 3-4" off the outer sleeve with a fine hacksaw you can reuse the cable with a screw-on cable nipple. The cable tends to fail right at the end of the ferule that attaches it to the pedal, because the cable has to kink here as the pedal moves. While you are repairing the cable, take the ferule off and open the end up into a bellmouth shape so the cable follows a curve instead of a sharp edge. Also, if you have a throttle stop make sure the pedal hits it as soon as the throttle is fully open, so you aren't straining the cable. Make sure the cable is lined up accurately with the pedal where it comes through the bulkhead so there isn't a kink at the bulkhead. If the cable is adjustable then avoid adjusting it so high or low that the pedal is at a big angle relative to the cable.
