Got home after a day out in the Griff today & as I tucked the car up in the garage I walked around it & could hear a high pitched whirring coming from near the rear nearside wheel...so I assume its the fuel pump.

Could this be trouble looming? Im away in the car next weekend & I really dont fancy getting stranded somewhere...or am I just paranoid? biggrin

Cheers in advance

Mine did that for a while, stopped when the fuel filter was replaced. But I bought a spare and keep it in the boot along with a couple of small g cramps in case i need to make a roadside swap.

Thanks for the replies so far...the fuel is quite low, less than 1/4 of a tank which I dont usually go down to.

I had a 12k service just before I bought the car in October, would changing the fuel filter be part of that service?

Suns out...lets see what happens later today.
