Need a new road car £5000, advice

OK I need a new every day car.

My requirments is mainly fun, I live in the contry so I want to be able to chuck it around and it be quickish, but I need to use it everyday so I need a boot and I want remote central locking, don't really care about anything else.

I'm thinking S2000, Lancer Evo, Impreza....

I want to spend about £5000. What should I get?

For that money, don't know what is costs over there.. but:
I drove an audi S2 (with RS2 engine spec.450hp)a few weeks ago,
still an impressive car.(had an RS2 years ago)

And don't forget: summer....buy something open.

I reckon MX5 or if you're lucky with the budget an S1 Elise. Sorry, probably neither of those have central locking but you can reach the other door from the driver seat

The Mazda has a decent boot, I'm not sure about the Elise.

I think the Audi S2 is a bit old.
I thought about an elise but does it have a boot?

Had half an hour playing with a TT not so long ago, 3.0 or 3.2 litre I think. Was quite nippy, typical good engineering,tight at 70k miles, and even some (very small) rear seats....seem to hold their value too! My mate paid £5500 for it.
If these are hairdressers cars I reckon its worth getting your scissors out, I was impressed with it as an all-rounder!
Despite their popularity and owner/mates Im not sold on Scoobies etc....seen plenty of them without their plastic.... theres not much under there.....You Eggbeater drivers are generally a brave bunch though.

Dunno about this one particularly but if you're prepared to fiddle a bit it might be ok. Lovely V8 soundtrack too! I can see you in ti flying through those country lanes!
