Hi folks,
has anybody this piece in use ?
http://www.pioneer.de/de/products/25/111/AVIC-F700...
Checking the specs this thing has everything, even supporting a rear camera.
I intend to install this in the dash of the ultima making it a clean install and supplying
SAT NVA with TMC( the only reason to install this as I hate to waiste my time in congestions), SD card playback
and radio (for the boring drives on limited speed highways).
An instlall pic would be great.

Hi Spatz,
I have just had L&J Audio do me a custom install into my Range Rover Vogue using this Din Unit.
The install was great, however there are issues with the unit.
The Unit is slow on startup, anything upto 45 seconds before you have any control.
Also there is no way of shutting the sat nav up. Once you have entered your destination she will turn into your wife, and nag you all teh way there, you cannot reduce the sound level or stop it from continually talking at you.
The touch screen display is temperemental at best. My advice dont use it. Im searching for a better unit for my Ultima build at present ill let you know if i source anything better.
Cheers
Mark

Uwe,
I just installed the 900 system, you`ll have to fabricate a holding tray as it`s quite large and heavy (at least the 900) - it only just fits the dashboard height (you can`t even use the plastic frame around it). Apart from that it`s a great system with excellent sound and more connections than you`ll ever need (IPod/USB/etc). A GPS mouse and many signal cables are also included.
The shortcomings Mark pointed out where dealt with at the latest software update.
Give me a call if you have any more Q´s.

This is what I'm going for:

Inputs for sat nav, camera, ipod etc etc. Hideaway amp and dash mount screen, don't have to worry about space behind the dash like you do with "normal" din or double din units.

yes i read on some forums that owners are not too happy with it, i like that it has a knob for volume control, the space requirements are not that big issue as i have now decided to cover the whole dash in carbon fiber and extend and model it where necessary
will let you know if i can find any more suitable
more info, seems like the kenwood 5220 has not any issues and is actually less expensive than the pioneer. no sd card slot but usb that will do as well for me.
anyone using that one ?

thanks I want to extend the dash a few cm to the bottom so no problem here, the pioneer has a SD card slot on the front which is missing on the Kenwood, so featurewise the Pioneer seems the best unit for the job, am a little concerned about the bad reviews I read. Will give Sven a call obvioulsy he has first hand experience.
LS7TANGO:
Where did you mount the GPS receiver ?
thanks
