I've owned my XJ8 3.2 1997 for a couple of months now and still love its looks and the way it drives. The better weather is coming and I would like to do a bit of my own servicing. Does anybody know where I can get a workshop manual or equivalent to keep me right. Apologies if this has been brought up before.

Unless Jaguar Classic Parts have introduced the origional workshop manual for the XJ8 on CD you'll have to try E bay. If you do, make absolutely sure you buy a genuine JTIS CD or a copy of one.

Avoid anything vaugely worded 'tho, such as "workshop guides" or "servicing manuals" - they are absolute rubbish.

I'm well qualified to pass comment on this - I've bought ones that went straight in the bin rolleyes

I bought the one available from the JDHT, although it is not really a workshop manual, I think it was titled technical information, it consisted of a series of poor quality pdf’s that were not a lot of use.
