T4 Front springs

While parking my V40 T4, it gave an loud bang on full lock, on investigation front nearside spring was broken right in the middle. They weren't rusty still had nice black paint. Don't know why it broke. Its a 2001 car with 90k.

perhaps you should cut back on the pie intake?


seriously though, at least it happened when you were parking and not on a motorway !!

Of course now would be the time to ditch the standard set up and introduce coil overs all round..

if its still got paint on it after this age /mileage its not the original ? must be a cheap after market one,only changed one after working for Volvo for 26 years for the same fault.

Thanks for the replys chaps, I'll let my other half know to cut back on her pie intake !
Think they must have been cheap aftermarket ones, replaced now.
