360 are they quick
Discussion
I've driven a couple of 360's now and to be honest they don't seem very quick. However I'm thinking that's just my lack of experience driving these sort of cars and the high revving nature.
Anybody else have any thoughts?. I had a 3ltr diesel beemer chase me down the dual carriage way yesterday and at first I thought it was an M5 the way it kept up. Ok I didn't give it full beans because it was someone else's car but still made me wonder.
Cheers

I agree, twin blowers means noble feels quick short shifting ! ... 400 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm
360fezza needs 8500 to deliver full power and torque is only 275 lb/ft
turbo cars invariably feel a fair bit 'faster'
have you tested a GT3 yet ? It will be the same.
If you are looking specifically for the same shove then think 996 GT2

I guess he passed you at some point for you to know it said 330d on the boot. Most of the shove will be 4000k and above, I guess you were changing gear too early.Anybody else have any thoughts?. ...but imho it's all about 'how' it does it
I know which one I'd rather have!
Couldn't agree more!

I went from a 996TT to the 360 and although the Porker felt slightly quicker, the 360 is more of a thrill to drive. Stick a tubi or capristo on and there's no comparison. Still gives me goose-bumps every time i fire it up

Theres a raft of modern saloons/coupes now that are getting pretty quick. 335 BMW for example is very fast for what it is especially in gear. A 2.3 turbo Saab 93 is like lightning in gear 50-70. But none of them make you feel special, nor do they get the looks or appreciation from other drivers. Anyone can buy/build a fast car but a 360 does feel special. First time I drove one I was underwhelmed, same as I was with my TVR T350, that is until I realised the throttle pedal doesn't just have 2" of travel and that after 3500rpm the thing comes alive. A one, maybe 2 second difference in 0-60 times (4sec Fezz, 5.5 BMW) can be finished off by a missed gear change or the other driver getting on the throttle a second before you.
Ferrari, Lambo, TVR, Lotus, Maser etc all have soul - something mister BMW 330 driver will never have so just enjoy for what it is.

You dont start getting any real power out of them unless you're above 5,500rpm, so you were barely on it. Them engines like to revved, and they deliver the power so smooth you cant tell its there. Not like a turbo car that kicks you in the back every time you change gear. Them Ferrari V8s are materpieces of engineering.
4.5 to 62mph or 4.3 to 60 mph and 180+ mph is not slow ....
These cars are fast but you have to drive them in the correct manner......they need to be revved and when you do that they are fast..........
When I first drove my 360 at the dealers it felt slow compared to my 997 Carrera 2S .....but the Carrera has more torque lower in the rev range so felt more linear in it's acceleration.....on my second drive of the Ferrari I was more able to use the full rev range and it felt much quicker ...
Every time I drive it even after 2 years it still gives me a big smile when I redline it....

Spot on Zippee. I've had my 430 a while now but with some recent good weather I'm only just getting used to the throttle. Coming from various 911's where the throttle is more like an on/off switch it's taken me a while to adjust. With the red car you have to really bury the pedal on the floor and hang on till she's absolutely screaming before changing up, then she suddenly becomes very quick indeed!
Actually, still not as quick as my previous 997TT in a straight line but there's so much more going on in the Ferrari that I really don't give a monkey's.
