Just toying with an idea of moving my aeroplane to biggin hill.
I would be looking to let it out to a school or a club, whilst also flying it myself once in a while
Anyone here a biggin hill regular? Perhaps you know someone there who might be interested?
the plane is C150l aerobat.

Sorry NW based.
Good idea though once on a public EASA to rent out (with minimum criteria)..good source of income/subsidises your own
flying.

Well I live pretty much in the square mile, so I am actually flexible on the airfield. ideally one that is easy for me to get to, but being reasonably sure that the plane will alsways be used by schools takes priority.

If you do this, I would suspect you would be deemed to have set up a sole-trader business and you would have to inform the tax authorities - especially if there was aprofit motive behind it.

Thanks for the heads up.
That aspect is taken care of already.

If you allow 'public use' of your Aerobat, I wouldn't think you'd need to setup in business/sole trader. Best to let all the admin/maintenance/insurance through a club that is already set up (insurance/etc) to do this (and they can vet/check out potential renters without any hassle to you. I guess it may come down to how many hours the Aerobat is used by other people/club members etc. However you may have to declare any extra income.....on yr annual tax return?? (no tax expert mind you!!)

Don't want to derail my own thread but how are you getting on with your 911? someone i know has just bought a 997 turbo, and he is currently achieving a driving/breaking down ratio of about 1:1...

Cheers I have made the same thread on pilotweb, but with 4 views in 7 hours and 0 replies, something tells me I may be waiting a while...

Sorry, I guess I misinterpreted your tone, dut to the lack of a smiley.
It just annoys me how this country suddenly turned socialist. Keep getting snidey comments on perosnal wealth even from relatives. easy to count someone else's money and imagining that it just appeared in someone's wallet innit?

Pilotweb is pretty much dead, as far as I can see. The Flyer forums or the Proon have much better visibility.

Your problem with renting out an Aerobat will be identifying the correct potential market. The addition of the term "Aerobat" a C150 has odd implications; if you make it available for general hire, including aerobatics, then you would probably want to ensure that it was only made available for solo hire to competent and current aerobatic pilots....but any reasonably competent and current aerobatic pilot will probably be looking at hiring something with, lets say, a bit more oomph. So you're either risking hiring it to some self-taught muppet with potential for bending the airframe and/or himself, or insist on dual-hire only for basic aerobatic instruction with a qualified instructor...and then you're back with the fact that for anything other than the most basic introduction to Loops And Rolls On A Sunday Afternoon, the Aerobat doesn't make much economic sense in that role either.

Edited: Ah - saw your last reply...if it helps, I'm not making snidey comments about your personal wealth; I'm making vaguely-snidey comments about your spazz-chariot 150 hehe

Fair comment on aerobat part. I am not particularly looking to ensure that it gets used for aerobatics. The way I see it, aerobat part just adds more strings on the aircraft's renting out potential bow. And yes I totally agree that the plane just about manages to get into aerobatics club. It's a luke warm hot hatch of aerobats (if that).
