FUEL GUAGE WIRIING

Can anyone tell me the correct wiring sequence for the back of the fuel guage and also for the sender. I've bought a chimaera who's fuel guage wont work - but I know the dash has been out and my first thought is that it's simply not wired up correctly. I have the following colours Red wire & Black wire which I've connected to the dash light like the other clocks Then, a green, a blue, a red/black and a green/black. On the sender I have a black, a red/black and a green/black and a green. The green wire seems to carry a positive, at the guage, but not at the sender? Any ideas
