Hi there - Any Gallardo/Gallardo Spyder owners regularly seem to be getting engine warning lights and error messages coming up on the dash?

Lambo thought it was a throttle body first ..

They seem to like to keep the car for quite a while why the get authorsiation to do things on the warranty - thats not that great either!

general whinge...

Do you let it run low on fuel because that can cause havoc with the various sensors etc. Usually needs a dealer reset and then ok.... until it runs low on fuel again.... and so on...

Hi, I normally run the fuel right down to almost empty, when the fuel warning light come on i know 50 or so miles left and normally cover that milage on normal roads - its never set any lights off with 55,000 miles covered for me smile

Engine warning light can be set off by many different sensors, only the error codes will tell you which one - ask your dealer for more detail ..

Never had it on mine either, but it was something the dealer warned me about. It worried me, so I've never let it drop below half a tank ever since.

Played engine warning light bingo in the first 1k miles or so with my spyder, then got a full house with the exhaust valve by pass mod

Put the exhaust back to normal and never had a light on again. smile

See thread "Gallardo Cut Out - Low Fuel" It seems that in some cases the dealers are scaremongering.

I had a engine check light a few months ago on my MY08 that turned out to be a faulty misfire sensor. Apparently, the sensor sniffed through a mild steel tube that got rusty inside, and that triggered a spurious fault indication. The tubes were replaced under warranty with (I believe) stainless steel ones.

The car threw the fault while I was out in it one Sunday afternoon and Lambo Assist sent something called 'RAC prestige' to help out. The RAC man's ODB-II code reader reported the stored fault as 'fault on cylinder 11' which I thought unlikely (on a 10 cylinder car).

Blimey - well its just gone back to Lamborghini London after THE MOST AMAZING Detail and paint correction by Bryan at Drive and Shine... Ill post the absolute "crease up of a job" by Permagard and Mastershield International in the detailing forum.. you will laugh...

Lights arent on now - very annoying as I know the minute i get it back the dash will be lit up like a beacon..

Got a call today " sorry but our technicians been flashed by a speed camera whilst road testing it..........

Great..
