Funny how they all say the rules should be looked into after their expenses are made public isn't it.

I see Brown has done the classic Labour move. Launch an inquiry into all the expenses,2nd homes, payroll etc.
Why? Well, its an old Tony Blair trick. Whenever you (members) are asked a question, just put your hand up and say
"I don't think it would be beneficial or right to give an answer while there is an [cough] independent inquiry being held"

Just seen Jacqui Smith rabbiting on C4 news and nothing could make her look like a saint, ever.
I don't know if that statement is completely accurate. If I was allowed I would enjoy making her look like the following Saints (albeit there might not be many repeat performances)
Quotes from wiki - so it must be true
Saint Faith: ...tortured to death with a red-hot brazier.
Saint Prisca: ...they flogged her, poured boiling tallow upon her, and sent her back a second time. She was at last thrown to a lion in the amphitheater, but it quietly lay down at her feet. She was starved for three days in a slaves' prison house, and then tortured upon the rack. Pieces of flesh were next torn from her body with iron hooks, and she was thrown on a burning pile.
Saint Blaise: ... beaten, attacked with iron carding combs, and beheaded.
Saint Vincent, Saint Jerome & Saint Nicholas Owen: ...who were all Racked.
ETA Saint Catherine: ...broken upon a wheel. I could do that - big time.

Brown has now called for a review by the sleaze watchdog.

Well that should fill the gap between now and when these utter cock-knockers get slung out of office so they can rack up as much as they can on expenses before the gravy train dries up. Slack jawed numpty.

This morning on radio 4 some labour twonk was saying how the new rules would stop this.
Lady interviewer pointed out that the wording of the new rules was identicle to the old wording and asked why he thought the new rules would change anything.
Labour t
t didn't answer and started waffling so she asked again. Labour t
t started ranting that she should let him answer as he is the politician if she thinks she could answer then maybe she should swap jobs etc etc etc. And then still didnt answer the question. He was so obnoxious. I wanted her to just call him a w
ker and cut him off.
I nearly crashed the frigging car he wound me up that much.

Any of these seem suitable for our politicians. Some do seem a little bit too nice however so would need to be "increased".Saint Prisca: ...they flogged her, poured boiling tallow upon her, and sent her back a second time. i think we have the new PH measure of hate - I'll have a "Blaise" for Jacqui Smith, a "Faith" for Darling and lets push the boat out for Brown and go for the full "Prisca" thanks. Can i get a "Vincent" to go please as well, next door neighbour is being a pain in the arse again......Saint Prisca: ...they flogged her, poured boiling tallow upon her, and sent her back a second time. I could heartily recommend "Scaphism" for that special 'someone'. Blair perhaps?

Person with too graphic an imagination said:
Scaphism, also known as 'The Boats', was an ancient Persian method of execution designed to inflict torturous death. The name comes from the Greek word skaphe, meaning "scooped (or hollowed) out".
The naked person was firmly fastened within a back-to-back pair of narrow rowing boats (or a hollowed-out tree trunk), with the head, hands, and feet protruding. The condemned was forced to ingest milk and honey to the point of developing severe diarrhea, and more honey would be rubbed on his body so as to attract insects to the exposed appendages. They would then be left to float on a stagnant pond or be exposed to the sun.
The defenseless individual's feces accumulated within the container, attracting more insects, which would eat and breed within his or her exposed and increasingly gangrenous flesh. The feeding would be repeated each day in some cases to prolong the torture, so that dehydration or starvation did not provide them with the release of death. Death, when it eventually occurred, was probably due to a combination of dehydration, starvation and septic shock. Delirium would typically set in after a few days.
In other recorded versions, the insects did not eat the person; biting and stinging insects such as wasps, which were attracted by honey on the body, acted as the torture.
Death by scaphism was painful, humiliating, and protracted. Plutarch writes in his biography of Artaxerxes that Mithridates, sentenced to die in this manner for killing Cyrus the Younger, survived 17 days before dying.
