I often use an obscene word just to cause the swear filter to kick in and give me the nice little "censored" logo.

I only just noticed though that if you "quote" a post, you can see exactly what the person typed!

It is a quirk which we are aware of but unfortunately it isn't an easy fix, so it is not very high up the 'To-Do' list.

We will look in to stopping the profanities appearing in quotes at some point in the future, but in the mean time you can just use censored or censored (quote me to see) if you just want the smiley without actually swearing!

As Flanders says, it stops PH being banned at work. If naughty words are left unfiltered, 'Net-Nanny' type filters pick up that the site has adult content and subsequently blocks peoples access at work.

As mentioned above about work filters, plus PH is not adults only. It's on the internet so anyone of any age can access it.

That's fine - I just didn't want to get binned or anything drastic for over-zealous use of certain words even if it's just because it's quicker to type than to think censored if that makes sense.

Don't worry, you won't get binned for it, it happens to all of us and as long as they are censored in the main view it isn't a problem.
