944 brakes (2.5 lux)
Discussion
I've had the car for nearly a week now and love it to bits but the brakes feel a bit unusual...
They work well and progressively, I can lock the wheels with no problem and there isn't any of that crunchy/spongy feel associated with air in the lines but I'm used to a brake pedal that offers more resistance and less travel. The pedal offers consistant resistance and doesn't slowly sink to the floor or anything like that but does move more than I'm used to. Is this a normal state of affairs or is this indicative of some problem?
I just wanted to check if this was normal before setting to changing the fluid, fitting new seal kits and lines and so on.
The fluid was changed quite recently (don't know the exact date) and passed an mot 3 weeks ago.
Thanks for any info/advice.
Regards,
Mark

I posted a similar message not long after acquiring my Lux
The brakes do feel unusual, but you get used to it. As you say, they perform well when you actually need them but the pedal action is off putting.
A specialist recommended the hoses that Dontlift mentions and upgrading the fluid. If that doesn;t do it for you, then its pads and / or discs

Be prepared if fitting the new hoses yourself, the rear hose joints have a tendancy to seize and it is an absolute arse to get the hoses of when on axle stands without loosing 3 fingers in the process. Also because you will need to bleed the brake system after replacing the hoses, this is a good time to change your fluid anyway. (have some spare bleed nipples handy) as again these do tend to sieze.
