Shocks need a re-build.

One of my rear shocks has lost all it's fluid and i was thinking of having the set of four re-built, any advice on where to go or how it should be done? I know a lot of people have fitted nitrons but i'm happy with the standard shocks, just because i dont want the ride to get any harder. Has anyone had theirs re-built, and what were the costs?

spoke to Simon at the factory today and they are going to do them ,give him a call to see how much .

They built the suspension on my Renault, Graham Hathaway racing set it up, they work very closely together.

LOL! Ditto for me, in every single detail!

Well, i spoke to simon at the factory today and he said i can send him my shocks and they will send them for a re-build. (Price will vary depending how fd they are.)Or i can buy M400 shocks as a direct replacement (using my old springs) and this would cost around £280 + vat each. Sounds good to me, dont know if the M400 up-grade is worth the extra dosh, maybe nitrons would be a better way to go if spending that much?

So...the factory will send them away......surely you could do that, cut out the factory's 10% (minimum) and get them back quicker?

Yeah i thought the same, but i've tried finding someone local to re-build shocks and have found nothing. I'm sure they'll only fit a new seal and fill up with oil so cant be too hard/expensive!?

Good call - had a chat with John; he's reconditioned Dynamic dampers before and he'll do complete refurb of my 2 rears for £75 a corner. And they're only 3 miles away
Now I'll have to dig out my tweezers and toothpick to get the old ones off

Plans did mine (M400) for about £75 each on the rear, they even lent and fitted a pair of theirs while mine were away being re-built.
About two weeks IIRC.
