Much more in the flesh. Its personal preference really, but I love the deeper Corsa, as opposed to the orangey Scuderia. Supposedly the latter is the classic racing colour?

OT but is your username your registration? I saw UR02 SLO at the VW meet. It was on a trackday car it seemed quite a funny reg.

There is a huge difference. In isolation Rossa Corsa looks quite a vibrant red but parked next to Rosso Scuderia it suddenly looks very dark.

Scuderia is similar to the orange colour used on recent F1 cars, if you want the classic blood red paint then Rosso Barchetta is pretty close to the pre TV / Media we paint smile

Go and check out Gran Turismo 4 Prolgue on a properly set up HDTV. If you go to the Ferrari garage section, you can select from a myriad of colours. I was quite surprised at how subtle but different the Rosso colours are. It also shows the car in a few angles and lighting effects to compare.

I remember reading somewhere that the orangey Rosso Scuderia colour was imposed on Ferrari by Marlboro as they felt it looked redder, and therfore better, on most domestic TV screens.

Choosing a road car colour based on what looks good on TV sounds a bit dodgy to me although I could just about concede that it works on the 360CS.

P.S. Remember that the famous Black and Gold JPS Lotus' were actually painted black and 'beige' so what you see is not necessarily what you get...

BTW I can see why you went for Scuderia over Corsa as it appears to be less of them! Either way, enjoy!!!!

I wasn't being nosey, I just hadn't come across the "red fingers" as far as spec goes so curiosity got the better of me! Is the actual term that Ferrari use?

I believe the official wording is "Dual Colour Leather Interior Trim" for Code Option "DUAL".

Dual colour is a different option - that's where the centre section of the seat, rear bench and the centre of the door panels is a contrasting colour. The term "fingers" is used to describe the Daytona seat inserts which are the stitched leather strips that are placed across the centre sections of the seats. You can have these in matching or contrasting colours.

Here is the dual colour option (with Daytona inserts as well in matching colour to the dual colour option)

And here is the Daytona option in a contrasting colour (red Daytona trim on crema seats)

Congratulations and enjoy. Re colour. Back in 2004 I was testing at donnington and whats his name was there in michaels old F1 car. In the pitlane was a scud and the nose of the F1 next to it. The scud looked positively cherry red in comparison. I have no idea what they paint the F1 car in but it was such a vibrant colour, for want of a better description it was flourescent in colour. I was absolutely gobsmacked.
