360 spyder are looking good value at £50k, compared with £85k for a F430 spyder. Is there much difference? Does the 430 feel faster and more powerfull?

I am sure it is better, just wondering whether its £35-40K better! It doesnt make it easier the fact that to the untrained eye they look very similar.

Very true. When I went to look at my 430, I asked if the car next to it had a different option fitted (different holes down the side of the rear window), and the salesman said deadpan "no, thats a 360".

The 430 is a completely different car to the 360. It has significantly revised engine internals with a corresponding bhp increase, chain driven timing belt as opposed to the rubber belt on the 360, e-diff from F1 which made a huge improvement to driveability, revised suspension, improved F1 gearbox (unless you are looking at a manual of course), launch control, much improved underbody aerodynamics giving greater stability at speed, revised interior with far better seats etc etc. A spirited drive in both models will show you just how much better the 430 is.

If money comes into it then the difference is not worth it. The 430 is definitely a better car than 360 just like the 430 scud is a better car than the standard 430. If you need to think about costs then just pay £45-£50k for the 360 spider and put the rest in a reserve fund to pay for bills. It basically all depends if you will be stretching yourself if buying the 430. Otherwise if money is less a factor then the 430 is a significantly although not hugely a better car if that makes sense.

The best way to think of it:

F355/F360 = similar engine and technology, but completely different chassis/styling (traditonal tube went to ally mono). Engine on both cars can be traced way back.

F360/F430 = Completely different engine and technology, but similar chassis/styling.

The comparison to difference between 360 and 430 as 430 to 430 scud above is incorrect and misleading in my opinion.

It's Bianco Fuji (Maserati colour - metallic white)

Got to disagree with you there. Having owned both the 430 is a massively improved car over the 360.

I think a far more relevant comparison would be:

348/355: Same basic body shape but completely different to drive. 355 has far more power, 80hp in fact, much more exploitable predictable chassis, most would say much better looking.

360/430: Same basic body shape, but completely different to drive. 430 has far more power, 80hp in fact, much more exploitable predictable chassis, most would say much better looking.

Just bought F430 F1 Spider.

I did look at 360spyders but wanted red/cream with low miles and ther are 60k ish for a good car.

I decided to go the extra and have the F1 430.

Having spent weeks looking at both they are about as similar as BEER DRINKING AUSTRALIANS and Bally Dancers.

Well I can't tell them apart, and I believe my eye is slightly less untrained than your average Joe.
