I bought one from my local Vauxhall dealer for about a hundred quid, which i thought was quite reasonable. In fact they supplied, sprayed and fitted it for about £230.

think he's looking for the 25 quid bit of glass most of us bought to get wide angle view on drivers side as well as passenger side rather than a whole wing mirror unit.

Edit to say GM Part No. you want is 92147343, description on box says RH LHD B/PLATE CURVED

Don't want to sound too simple, but how do you remove the mirror glass in the first place? I think I can locate a wide angle mirror but am unsure how to remove it?

well BO55 VXR is the forum expert on this - he did 50+ at one time or another but basically it takes balls of steel, a screwdriver and brute force. Usually easier with driver window down for levering out that side. Its basically mounted on a spring clip arrangement - transfer it over to the new mirror and clip back into place. There have been various posts on this in the past and iirc there were diagrams attached showing what I mean. Know its not much use but try the search function at the top of the page, you might be lucky and find them with that - never worked that well for me in the past.

It's quite straight forward to do, you just need a big flat head screw driver and a steady hand, however I was trying to prise between the glass and fixture rather than the fixture and the motor. I was lucky nothing broke, other than getting one loose fastener when I put it back together - I can now guess my speed by looking at the vibration in the glass!
Having said that, I would still rather live with a little wobble than the VERY dangerous blind spot they have.
Why don't you pm B055 VXR for more info?

It's really no big deal to get the old one off. Boss used to scare people so he could fit more. That's my theory anyway...

looks like you and V8dicky need to meet then!
It was no big deal for me to feck it up a bit either. As its a "one off mod" ie any one person never need do it more than once, surely its better to let someone do it with plenty of experience if its easy enough to sort, and save yourself time and stress in the process?

Go to www.vxronline.co.uk/ and ye shall find him. I think there's some "history" here that no one mentions....

I did mine and managed to keep the original glass intact as a spare (which I still have). It WAS scary, but I consider myself fortunate it went well... seems like an inordinate amount of pressure required to pop it out. Grit your teeth it'll be ok

have you tried your local Vauxhall dealer's parts dept - with the part number I gave you they may be able to order one in for you?
