Accelerator pedal stiff on Golf
Discussion
Hi,
I have a Golf 1.9 GT TDI with 180,000 miles on the clock. I noticed yesterday that the accelerator pedal has become stiff and it is requiring varying amounts of force to be used in order to accelerate.
I presume that there is accelerator cable which has become worn? If so, is it likely to go soon or have I got a few weeks to play with?
Is it easy to change?
Cheers
Aidan

Well that's what I was thinking too. If that's the case, and the accelerator pedal is anything like my 2006 Octavia, then it'll be the type that's hinged at the floor.
If it's one of those types, I've heard that small stones etc can get stuck behind the pedal at the bottom near the hinge.
Could this be the problem here???
