Hi all,
I decided that an RX-8 is the best choice for me for my new company car in France. It is a bit cheap maybe (I could have a new 3l 5er as well, they're a bit more expensive!) but it is probably the nippiest 4-seater-bound-to-be-at-least-a-bit-exclusive I can think of.

Now I have to spec it. As magazine comments state that it's a bit dark inside with black leather only I'd like to choose the red-black leather. A bit tacky maybe but at least not too depressing. That leaves me with velocity red or brilliant black for colour. What would you choose? Or go for blue with black interior?

TIA for any feedback.

PS very few options on this thing - GPS is about the only option you can get...

PPS anyone looking for a really nice 4.2 Cerb, 2002 model - mine's for sale at Castle TVR...

i'd go for the blue-black combo.

every RX8 ive seen has been red, and so will be common.
black is not a good colour, unless its a weekend car etc.

never seen a blue one!! go for it!!

Excellent choice of car..clearly a man with taste. enjoy.

"never seen a blue one!! go for it!!"

Blue arnt in the country/europe yet, along with green and yellow, there not in the first wave of launch colours.

415miles on my Titanium with cloth seats so far, just been for a quick blat around at lunchtime. Sticking to part throttle, < 7000rpm. But still tons of fun. Cant wait till its run in and I can be free-er with the throttle.

Only real downpoint so far is MPG, 23 out of my first tank, 261 miles until light came on, but after a tvr thats not bad...

Yeah, manual states "no need to run in, but we recomend..."

No racing engine , keep revs below 7000 etc etc , for 600miles.

520 up now, but going to ease it up to 9500 over the next few hundred.

Oh and I'm babying it when cold, and will do after run in.

I also ordered a red one with red & black leather. Maybe a bit more common than the other colors but apparently blue might only be available Q2 next year, and now I'll have it before xmas, with a bit of luck. And it still looks good, I think.

Hi power, satnav. That's all available options, at least in France.
