Houx Annex Allocated pitches?!

I'm after a bit of info on the above subject....

was it allocated last year, and if so how heavily was it enforced?

i've booked seperate to a group of friends but obviously would prefere to be with them as apposed to the other side of the site.

It was not allocated last year.
It is quite strict. Your only hope it to try and trade with the people in the spot next to your friend when you get there.
Or park your cars in one plot and camp in the other.

I'd quite like a definitive answer on this.

Last year was neither marked nor numbered pitches.

This year it is apparently definitely marked pitches, but I've heard conflicting info as to whether to whether they are numbered too. Anyone know for sure?

When i booked my tickets i was told there would be marshalls escorting you to your allocated pitch, and extra security about whilst we were there to enforce the allocated places.

I suppose its a case of we'll see when we get there.

Based on the numbered campsites in 2008, every car was stopped at the entrance to the campsite, then taken directly to thier pitch by a marshall on a push bike. There was also additional security at the campsite entrance provided by SPI, a local firm hired by the ACO.

This was certainly the case for Bleu Nord, Bleu Sud and Maison Blanche. I would expect that they will look to do the same on Houx Annexe this year.

But... without meaning to sound defeatist... this is still rumour. Has anyone obtained confirmation from the ACO or anyone involved with the running of the campsites that HA will be marked and numbered?

I am the owner of www.1st-tickets.co.uk and we are an official agent for the circuit. We have been told by the ACO that Houx Annexe will be numbered pitches as are:

Houx
Karting Nord
Maison Blanche
Bleu Nord
Bleu Sud

Ahhh NUTS! I was hoping to see Tetre Rouge on the list so we didn't have the "pitch fury" when we arrive on Thursday lunchtime.

Half of this is a relief as our forward party will be going on Tuesday to get the pitches sorted whilst its not too busy.

They were all numbered pitches last year in bleu nord- i bought mine off ebay, and when we arrived, half of it was over concrete, which was neither comfy, or indeed easy to get tent pegs into.

We are in Houx annexe this year for the first time, and i cant bloody wait.

we are all in HA this year (eight cars, 17 people) and we are actually in two minds about the numbered and marked pitches. it is great that we won't have the rush and worry about the pitch, but also means we can't get exactly what we want like in previous years. i am glad we won't have to fight any dutch people again though...

just a missunderstanding really, we had about 15 people in our group, two of whom whent down the day before us (tuesday) and snagged a decent big pitch for all of us. there was still pleanto of other space at this point so it wasn't too cheeky. then the next day at about 1pm when the rest of us turned up and parked our cars, a few dutch lads came over and told us that they had our patch reserved. a heated exchange took place, then everything was sorted when they realised that their tour company ws wrong and you couln'd in fact reserve a parch of unmarked land. they went off and nothing more was said. perfectly nice blokes in the end, just nobody wants problems after an eight-hour drive and very little sleep.

I thought it sounded unlikely to actually come to blows with the dutch.

Our first experience was a few years back when two turned up in a camper van which was basically a fridge, and had 800 cans of beer in the back-and they were worried they wouldnt have enough.

A HUGE drinking contest started, ending with one falling off a chair into a very deep sleep for 18 hours, whilst the other one was cleaning his teeth with toothpaste and voka at 5 in the morning.

Great blokes, if you discount 'dur pinker floydsh' being payed all the while.

Did anyone hear the chap berating the germans with a loudhailer outside the bar by the museum on the friday night 2 years ago. One of our group, and not a very proud moment.
