I gave him the paint code (687f) as per plate and guess what he could not find it on his database or his colour charts. is there another colour code or something. He manage to match it by guess work but, i need to get the rear side skirt resprayed behind the wheel some time and i really dont want to go to vx. can anyone help

ive sufferd the same problem, my car is impulse blue, and as far as i know no other vauxhalls come in this colour??
went to the dealership and they said the nearest place that stocked monaro stuff was pentagon in derby......he told me only a select few dealerships actually sold and deal with the monaro, same for oil filters and parts!!

My paint guy had no problem finding the paint code (mines black though). Although its not under vauxhall, because its not a vauxhall colour. I think it was under holden on his particular database.
Maybe not enough lateral thinking on behalf mr chips away smile

The details for tracking are found under Pontiac for some laser tracking machines. Maybe the colour codes are as well!!!

lets put it this way, I now don't have to worry about what tyres I fit - all that weight over the rear keeps it planted!
'tis true, I do have to "catch" the boot lid on its way down otherwise there's an almighty bang and the car rocks! as for lifting, well, its a monaro, if anyone thinks ANYTHING on these is going to be easy to move, well, think again!
Looks good though, I think, and a bit more exclusive as well....

I was in a similar situation with matching Sting Red. The previous owner had a GM touch-up named Sting Red in the glove box but it might as well have been blue, green or pink with yellow spots as it bared no resemblance to the car colour. I contacted a friend who has a reputable body shop in my area and he managed to make me a small touch up pot from the code 687F. I have used it and it’s a great match... When you do your stone chips make sure you get the finest tipped brush you can get and dont use the one that comes with the touch-up (get one from an artist shop or pinch one of the other half’s make-up brushes) to fill in the chips, you get an excellent result with no over spill/splurges on the main paint work…. biggrin

don't use a brush - use a toothpick to "drop" a small spot of paint into the chip, let it flow into the shape of the chip and dry to a slightly (lower the better) raised bobble and then sand using 2000-3000 grit paper and then use scratchx or similar compound to polish it all up.

no adjustments I'm aware of but I reckon its at least 2x the weight it used to be, got to be very careful lifting and closing the lid as I'm sure it'd take your head off if it dropped suddenly :-)
