They may be good for holding a corner up when rolling it into a garage.
But I was told by a guy who ran a TVR breaker’s that he had bought 4 wrecked TVR’s in the recent past. All had arrived with a space saver tyre fitted to an accident write off. The owners had all forgotten, or not allowed enough for the reduced grip of the tiny contact patch.
You’re safer with a tin of tyre weld.

Craig..most cars built today has space saver tyre instead of full size to save space in side boot lid..All tyre are stamped on side of wheel about speed restrictitions usually 30/50 mph for different cars. Not sure about TVR space savers being so old now.. Theres nothing wrong with them they are only a get your there measure.Tyre sealer are Not very good as in If you fill your tyre with the gunk You cant have the punture repaired after the tyres throw away.. Same as the space saver its not very clever to go quick with the gunk filling the hole in you tyre.... By the way where was you yesterday night thought we was going to have a chin wag about brake upgrades..GOLDIE

Work, the curse of the drinking classes, I'm afraid.I know what you mean about sticking to the limits. The trouble is that you can break traction easily on standard tyres, never mind that little spsce saver. You can just be driving along, the back end gets loose and you're gone.
IIRC tyres of higher speed ratings are not supposed to be repaired according to British Standards. It's above V rated for bikes but I forget with cars. So, if it's punctured, it's had it anyway.
So you may as well use the tyre weld, save the boot space and have the bigger contact patch of the normal tyre.
