Interesting... just did a search for "Valvoline" on the Cerb forum... and "0 results"

Having completed the rebuild, need to get a can of something nice for her, and Valvoline was recommended, albeit tricky to source as far as I understand.

On the basis Valvoline didn't even show in the search - wondered what Cerb owners were using out there?

I was advised by Austec to use a decent 40W10, so thought I'd investigate a little further.

I use Shell Helix Ultra 10-W-40 fully-synthetic.

And I change it regularly ..... very regularly (about every 3000 miles).

I take it a semi-synth you are after for another couple of thousand miles as it's still bedding in. Never saw the results of your final sessions yet confused

Wooo... thanks for noticing! Quick O/T update:

Cats were dead (booo) so had to get them replaced... with de-cats, obviously! (Yey!)

So some more work, some more £'s and we're fully rebuilt, with de-cats.

Now... one or two of the pipes are giving problems, as their integrity is compromised - compromising the potential. Paul wanted to wait to get them sorted before doing the actual mapping.

So - she's with me at the moment, a little more running in ("with vigour" were the words) will help, and due to go back next weekend to fix the pipes (not a full breathing kit just yet) and for the final remap.

Hopefully after that I'll be able to give you a number or two...

WHAT AN ORDEAL! But worth it.

p.s. OMG what a difference the RR spec is. I wasn't expecting it to be so changed - and the re-map isn't done yet. Sheesh.

I have a client that worked for some years testing lubricants for shell. He ran a formula 2 race car among other interesting things and he said the best oil in the tests he did, and the only oil he would use is AMS Oil. I used it last service and it has performed very well.
