2.7 S Type - Which tyres
Discussion
Have had my S Type for 6 months now, and it's time for a service & new tyres.
It has Pirelli 6000's on at the moment, but my local dealer where the car is going for a service next week says that the standard tyre for the S Type is the Pirelli Zero.
They have quoted me a price which is only £30 more (£610 total for 4 off), than I can get from local tyre supplier, but will do the tracking FOC, and all at the same time the service is done whilst I have a loan car.
Seems like a good deal to me.
I used to have a Saab 9-5 with Perelli Zero's and had no problems, but what do you guys think who know about Jags?
John,
I had a 4.0 V8 for three years and now I've had a 4.2 V8 for over four years. Both cars had/have Pirelli P6000s as original factory fitted equipment and I have stuck with them. I reckon they are good for about 22,000 miles or so. They do tramline on occasion and sometimes I have thought about a change but never done so.
Try BlackCircles for price on tyres..recommended by PH too.

Tyre choice will depend on what you are looking for.
Have a look at the reviews on Pneus online, Black Circles and Camskill before you buy. The Pirelli tyres are the default choice for Jaguar and fitted as OE but you can bias your car towards performance or ride comfort and save a awfull lot of cash too with a bit of research.
Have a look at Groomi's tyre wiki in General Gassing as well.

Thanks
I was expecting a little more from your fronts.
I have just completed 15k on a set of P6000's, they wern't new when I got the car, so @ a guess that the total mileage the tyres covered isn't too different to your P Zero's.
I think I will stick to my arrangement with the local dealer and get all 4 corners done.
I could save £5 a tyre elswhere on the same tyres, but this way the service and tryes are all done on one visit.
Thanks for your input
