Thinking out loud really... would like the views of other PHers as much as that of the Admins.
What do you think about having a 'Car Auction' section?
I don't think it would be the busiest section out there, but it could make a good central way of sharing news; whether about upcoming sales - regular fleet ones, prestige ones, historic ones etc - or about sales which people have attended.
Can also serve to fulfil general questions as well as 'can attendees look out for car x for me' type questions.
I certainly can't guarantee ino the future the kind of reports I've been providing the last 4 or 5 months as they are entirely dependent on my own workload (I've had a quiet winter!
) but I do wonder whether some other members feel less keen on posting half a dozen prices here and there because mine have been a bit OTT? Which is obviously a bad thing!
The topic has certainly been quite successful for PH generally; a quick Google finds plenty of my reports being discussed (and linked back to) on large numbers of other motoring forums, including honestjohn. And the number of personal emails I receive from lurkers/non-members (as well as regular PHers) clearly demonstrates an appetite for further information
