After tracking the car at Rockingham recently and fast road driving it became apparent that for my needs I have enough power (320 at the wheels)for the time being and that handling is my next focus before looking at increasing power. I absolutely love my Monaro and I have decided it is a keeper so looking at it as a long term project car. Well Rome wasn't built in a day after all!

My current thoughts are to get Monkfish to replace all the bushes with poly bushes and then at a later date fit coilovers.

My questions is this. Will poly bushing allround make a significant difference to the the handling which to be honest is a little too vague for me (especially turning in) or would the coilovers combined with the standard bushes be a significant enough improvement over the stock setup to not need to bother polybushing. Clearly polybushing at £1200 is a significant cost.

While I appreciate that the Monaro will never be an optimum track tool I do want to sharpen it up for fast road driving

I've changed most bushes and found they made a difference, i'm changing the main rear subframe bushes next month. I have lowered springs already but intend getting coilovers which include top strut mounts. When cornering hard I think its the top strut mounts that moan and grown.

I'd start with the road response pack and the rear end pack, plus the quick rack. See what you think it needs after that.

Id agree, with all the work ats being done to mine at the moment I ask Roger with all the power its putting down what does he recommend so for the moment it has the responce packs which have helped a lot the dampners on the car are still pretty good. Coilovers would also help but if you doing it in stages the bushes will deffently be a good step as long as your dampners are still in good shape.

A road response pac and a quick rack will improve turn-in in a big way, even with stock suspension, though with a CV8 it will still roll a lot.

Id go Road Response Pac, Rear End Pac, Quick Rack and Coilovers and see how it goes. Then do the remaining bushes (track Pac) if you still dont think its enough.

Hello,

Yes, go for the response pack and rear end, it helps alot. Plus the quick steering rack and coilovers later on.

I went for the response pack, then KW coilovers, then the rear end and steering rack (when they became available) - brilliant difference. The rear end make the rear end a little more bumpy but not bad at all, you get quite a amount of extra rear end feel with that pack (even with my coilovers fitted).

Cheers
