So, the Repost Police appear to be reviled on PH.
But why is that that time & time again, people hear a story, and it's like "Ooh! ooh" ooh! I must get to a PC urgently and post that on PH", like they are wetting themselves with excitement fit to burst.
Fair enough, but more often than not they don't even need to use search to see if it's already been done, as the story is already there on the first page of the forum they are just about to post it on, along with all the other reposts of the same topic, some locked, some not.
Come on folks. I can understand the Repost Police being scorned if the topic is a day or two old, and the poster simply missed it. But when the topic is on the same page, with often the same title, it is apparent that some folks just can't even be bothered to scan a few thread titles first.
I know there are more important things in the world, but it really riles me, it's not fair on the original poster, and it often breaks up a good debate, or witty comments, over several threads too, which can be a shame.
I guess the Repost Police are at least as predictable as the stories that are repost material. I swear, I think to myself, that's one that'll be reposted, and reposted, and reposted, and sure enough....

If a topic was posted some time ago, once, and it had an unusual or unexpected title and just a link to a story then the RP can be quiet tedious, however when the first page has a million* posts all obviously about the same thing then posters deserve all they get.

Reposts don't bother me.. Rarely around these days so they probably don't seem like reposts to me anyway..
ETA - I remember when all this was just fields etc etc..
