Mini In-Dash CD Changer Help

Hello All

I have just purchased a 2007 Mini Cooper and I have been given an In-Dash CD Changer taken out of an new X5 which I know is the same one that can be used for my car.

Is it worth taking it to my garage to get fitted or shall I try and fit it myself?

TBH not sure it would work. If it does you will need to get it coded to the car to work as i assue the car is an R56?

Yes it will be the R56. I have one similar on my Polo but that was really easy to fit. I have spoken to some garages about fitting one but they all tell me different stories so I dont know who to believe?
