Sat Nav update for 2002 car

I have a Jan 2002 330ci with Sat nav & TV. (widesvreen)

It still has the original disc in.

Can you get a newer disc ?

Will it work any better or is it a waste of time ?

Do you need updated software for the system also ?

How much ?

Where from ?

Your vehicle should have a boot mounted CD satnav unit and the CD installed should cover just GB and Ireland. This is the Mark 3 nav setup and you can upgrade both the system OS and map to 2009. However it is possible to have the later DVD unit which can accommodate a full Europe map. Settings on the head unit will indicate which drive unit you have or check the markings on the drive in the boot. If its the Mark 4 it will state DVD on the panel.
