maybe the web folk installed IE8 and used the tools to submit the site for validation and saw how many errors there were and have started to fix it? BTW been using IE8 for a few days now and its a huge leap forward, the F12 developer tools especially handy if your playing around with CSS stylesheets. And yes for a laugh I did send the site for validation and although it came back as broken it was nowhere near as bad as either M$ or Dells.
