Carpet Cleaning
Discussion
Can anybody offer current recommendations for cleaning the interior carpet areas of their Griffs?
My car has a magnolia coloured carpet and as my roof is never on, the interior obviously collects lots of dust, rain, snow etc
I once hired one of those carpet wet cleaning machines for the house which has nozzles and attachments that enable it for use in the car (no, the main machine doesn't fit in the car!!!) but it's expensive and not as good as you might hope due to the small, hard to get at areas. The footwells you can live with but the carpet on the parcel shelf and door linings are obvious and the light carpet shows marks and dirt easy so wondered if anybody had any products they have used in their Tivs that they would recommend?
Cheers,
Steve.

I used Halfords carpet shampoo and found it worked well. Have also successfully used '1001' household cleaner but as you have to mix it with water it took longer to dry. My car had quite bad patches of carpet glue showing where the factory had been a bit careless, I managed to remove this with petrol before shampooing.
Thanks HedgeHopper!
A mate also suggested something he's used in Halfords - Ambersil Groom. It's a foaming upholstery cleaner. Got some and used it at the weekend. Defo worth doing although it could probably do with a second session in the footwells etc (only bought the one tin to try it out). Doesn't remove any surplus glue overspills but did bring the carpets up and removed any dirty marks etc
