Every now and again on the way home from work I stop off for a kofte at a joint on Old Brompton Rd. Great lamb, proper grill, fresh salad, hot hot chilli. This place is fantastic, proper old school hole in the wall kebab house. I'm a big foodie but (why should I feel I have to say but) this is one of my most enjoyable food experiences at present. Love it.

i love kebabs of any description, sometimes even a good donner. i think its the combination of nicely grilled lamb, chilli garlic and crisp fresh salad that just works for me.

Considering kebabs of one form or another are eaten from Agadir to Kashgar, about 3500 miles, quite a few people consider kebabs pretty good food hehe .

A well made kebab is a thing of beauty - chargrilled meat, fresh bread, hot sauce, and some form of greenery.

Sindeban Kebab on the blackstock road, where they serve their shwarma in a fresh baked baguette, is one step from heaven cloud9

Kebabs rock. Im such a fan of my local kebabbie that this has led to the 'kebab standard' or 'kebab test' against which to judge other meals.
Having eaten at a restaurant etc I consider whether or not I would rather have just had a doner and if not, the meal was top drawer!

A proper kebab is a thing to behold. It is just a shame that city centres are littered with substandard kebab houses serving up tripe to the drunken masses.
I bring a bag of Kofte mixed spice back from Turkey every year and make my kebabs from scratch, including the chilli sauce.
But that said, I am partial to a takeaway kebab now and again. So wrong yet so right, but it has to come from the only local place I trust to deliver a top notch kebab.
We made the mistake of getting a lamb doner in town a while back whilst slightly drunken. We didn't even touch it once we opened it when we got home. Unseasoned, rubbery and only really fit for the dog bowl. Which is where it went.

The Kebab Kid in Parson's Green is pretty good. Not cheap though.

Oh how wonderful!

I've requested a visit for my birthday. Happy happy memories and some utterly amazing kebabs! Nothing like the rat meat you get everywhere else.

The finest kebab you'll ever taste.

I can recommend the King Kebab van which parks just outside of the village of Gamlingay, Cambridgshire/Bedfordshire border on the B1040.

Very very good. In fact better than the last official bit of Gyros I had on the shores of the Aegean.

It must be the quality of rat in the area. Corn fed only.
