Exige s2 battery placement

Does anyone else think that the position of the Exige battery is a little more than an after thought? I could understand if it weighed the same as a laptop battery, but having best part of 10kgs up high surely doesn't make any sense.
I'm going to swap it for a lighter battery, any ideas?

it's was moved back in the K series days when they wanted more space at the front for AC.I'm going to swap it for a lighter battery, any ideas?

The whole battery THING in the Lotus Elise is crap and yes it is an after thought,in fact I don't think they thought at all.It is the archilles heal of the Lotus,I love my Lotus S2 but I bloody well think the battery set up is s
