Hi guys!

It has been a while since i came on here! Its been blocked at work!

My cars sprung an oil leak! It's not massive its like a drop every 12 hours or so! (you can imagine the state of the drive!)

I took it to a garage and they said it'll be fine going like that for life.. but i'm not too sure!

Any idea's what it could be and how much to get it fixed / if its an easy job?!

There's 3 photos.. I'm not sure how they'll come out but i'll give it a go!

Thanks in advance!

Doesnt look to bad mate. Small leaks like that are not a problem really. Just keep checking the oil weekly.

Change the cam cover gasket(its rubber) they go hard on these and yours looks like its never been off, while your in there ajust the tappets, then clean off with some brake cleaner and see how it goes.

I specialise in these and its very common for the head gaskets to spring a leak, they just weap oil from the left hand corner just like you have described, the garage is right they will run like this for ages just make sure the car is topped up with oil.

The only fix is to have the head gasket replaced and the cylinder head skimmed etc.

Oh good times. Head gasket = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ?

I'm not concerned about it, i'm more concerned about the drive, and the constant dripping!

no quick fix?

Put a plastic bowl on the drive and park over it?
